2024 National Aspirations in Computing Award Recipients Announced

Miss. Alape Toro was awarded 1st place in the category of Energy and Sustainable Design at the Regional Science Fair.

She meet with the governor, senator, and mayor of the district of Humacao, Puerto Rico due to her presentation on the summer institute project “Sustainable Building Envelope: Energy Consumption” and was awarded a Recognition Award.

The Purdue 2022 Summer Institute Mentors on “Sustainable Building Envelope: Energy Consumption” were Florida Polytechnic University of Mechanical Engineering Professor Gerardo Carbajal, Purdue Civil Engineer Professor Mirian Velay-Lizancos, and Purdue PhD Civil Engineering Student Vito Francioso.
